2017 Niro Hybrid Release Date, Specs and Price

Kia recently debuted their all-new 2017 Niro Hybrid Utility Vehicle (HUV). Kia describes their all-new Niro as a no-compromise vehicle that combines driving enjoyment with eye-catching design, utility and hybrid efficiency, the 2017 Niro HUV finds the perfect balance for what today’s buyers want. The 2017 Niro will be equipped with the all-new state-of-the-art Kappa 1.6-liter GDI four-cylinder engine, engineered specifically for hybrid applications. The 2017 Niro is estimated to produce an outstanding fuel economy rating of 50 mpg combined.  

Kia stopped at nothing to ensure that the 2017 Kia Niro was both a spacious and comfortable ride with increased pad density in the cushions and with crossover-like proportions the Niro sports elevated seating position. Kia also developed a quiet interior with additional insulation in the Niro’s front structure, acoustic windshield glass and carefully shaped side mirrors to mitigate wind noise. Kia has not yet announced a release date or a price for the 2017 Niro Hybrid, but as soon as that information becomes available we will update the information on the 2017 Niro HUV.

2017 Niro Hybrid Technology and Safety Features

Like the rest of the Kia lineup, the 2017 Niro will be offered with a suite of advanced driver assistance and convenience technologies. Features that will be available include, blind spot detection with rear cross traffic alert and lane change assist, smart cruise control, lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking. The 2017 Niro will also feature the newest version of Kia’s infotainment and telematics system, UVO3 which is complete with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

All-new Eco-driver assistance system features Kia’s first application of coasting guide and predicative energy control. The costing guide aims at maximizing fuel economy by coaching the driver on when to coast and brake. Predictive energy uses the navigation system and cruise control to anticipate ground changes on the road ahead and actively manages energy flow, determining when its best to recharge the battery and when its best to expend stored energy to optimize overall efficiency.
