An amplified powertrain sets the Kia Niro Plug-In Hybrid apart from competitors. Standard Kia Niro editions employ a 1.6-liter inline-4 Full Parallel Hybrid System that utilizes a 1.56-kWh lithium-ion battery pack to harness electrical energy. With these elements under the hood, the 2017 Kia Niro manufactures 139 horsepower and will achieve 52 mpg in the city and 49 mpg on the highway.

Niro Plug-In Hybrid models will employ a larger 8.9-kWh battery pack and are expected to deliver an impressive 34-mile electric driving range.
