2018 Kia Stinger engine options
Kia amazed us all when they announced that they were building a four-door performance luxury sedan. It was the performance part that seemed the most surprising. Kia builds quality vehicles, there’s no doubt about it, but they have shied away from the performance market, until now. The Kia Stinger is actually set to dominate, and though there’s a lot to talk about, let’s take a look under the hood and discuss the 2018 Kia Stinger engine options.
How many engine options does the Kia Stinger have?
People love to talk about the twin-turbo V6, but we will get to that in a minute. The Kia Stinger actually has two engines available, and the base engine is just as impressive. If you still want power but want to save a little money, then this base engine is the one you should consider.
Base engine specs for the Kia Stinger
The standard engine that comes in the Kia Stringer is no slouch. It’s a twin-scroll turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder. Don’t let the 4-cylinder figure talk you out of this engine as it pumps out 255 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, making for a very spirited ride.

Spirited usually also means terrible fuel economy, but that is just not the case here. The Stinger base trim and the Premium trim, which both get this engine, earn 22-city mpg and 29-highway mpg in RWD. On top of that, this engine is also available with AWD and still provides the same highway mpg and gets 21-city mpg.
