If you aren’t thrilled with biking, but the idea of getting outdoors appeals to you, try Overton Park, or just go to the Trinity River Park without bringing along your bike.

Water gardens are serene and spectacular, and Fort Worth just happens to have one. Or, try out a botanic garden for some great greenery sights.

For activities that are more engaging, try the Fort Worth Zoo, though you will need to be wary of weather patterns. Another great trip, and good for family bonding, is to go on a camping trip. Most campgrounds are extremely affordable and have some pretty amazing hiking trails, as well as some fishing areas.

For a night of amazing movies and decent food, you can go to the Coyote Drive-In theater, go hop in your favorite Kia vehicle and drive over! There are plenty of food trucks for you to choose what you want to eat for dinner, generally cheaper than what you find yourself paying at the movie theater.

Museums are a nice way to get the family out and about, without needing to worry about backup plans if the weather is bad. It doesn’t hurt that Fort Worth isn’t lacking in the museum department, either. You can always go to the Kimball Art Museum, or if you want a more modern spin, you can check out the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. If you and your companions are more scientifically inclined, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is another kid-friendly museum that the whole family can have fun at.

If museums aren’t your thing, try the YMCA. It is great for indoor and outdoor activities ranging from swimming to a workout at the gym.
