DIY: inexpensive ways to make my car smell better?
Warm weather can be nice, but along with it comes those miscellaneous items that really shouldn’t be left out in your car that is now cooking away. Paired with that new car smell of your 2019 Kia Sorento, your car can become a pot of unpleasant smells. Even after you clear everything out, an odor can still remain in the seats. So what are some inexpensive ways to make your car smell better? Here are a few DIY tips to try.
- Essential oils
- Wax melts
- Dryer sheets
- Car cleaner kit
Essential oils are great for pretty much anything, and making a car smell good is not an exception. Whether you make fun felt cut-outs and put a few drops of oils on them, or if you put some rice in a jar and mix it with the oils, there are tons of ways to turn essential oils into air fresheners.
The great thing about wax melts is you don’t need to worry about them sitting in the sweltering heat, since that’s pretty much what they were made for. Go ahead and choose your favorite scent, stick it in a jar, and enjoy the aroma as you drive.
If you haven’t already, try vacuuming the seats and shaking out the floor mats, then setting an open box of dryer sheets in the backseat.
Of course, sometimes things are a bit more difficult. If there was a spill or stain that you know is the cause, a few air fresheners will only be a temporary fix. In this case, you may want to consider buying a kit to clean your car, and then get scrubbing. It takes more effort, but in the end, a good clean might be just what your car needs.
