Free 2018 Holiday Events near Fort Worth, TX
The Bass Pro Shop’s annual Santa’s Wonderland is now open at participating locations. Families who visit participating stores can enter Santa’s Wonderland for free pictures with Santa and other kid-friendly crafts and activities. The event gets pretty busy, especially during busy shopping hours, so plan ahead by visiting during slow hours or make a reservation in advance.
While the shops lining the Frisco Square are not free, walking among the tree-lined street is. We recommend visiting at night when the decorations are their most magical. Plus, if you time it right, they have a snow machine that sprinkles the most realistic snow. It makes the perfect backdrop for family photos and is a favorite of adults and small children alike.
The Vitruvian Park in Addison, TX north of Dallas is a slight drive depending on where in DFW you are coming from, but it’s worth it. The whole park is filled with lights and decorations including a decorated Christmas tree. Depending on the night, visitors may also see Santa or other holiday-themed performers. Admission and parking for the event are free of charge.
